Counseling
SCC Counseling provides students with personal and academic counseling necessary to successfully reach their goals. If you are new to SCC or currently attending, we encourage you to see a counselor at least once a semester. Our Counseling team wants you to succeed!
Counseling services are also offered at the Davis and West Sacramento Centers.
Make a Counseling Appointment
Students must have an active SCC Application on file before attempting to schedule an appointment online.
Appointments are released at midnight each day to schedule for the following week.
Example: on Wednesday 12/16/20 at 12 midnight, the schedule will open up appointments for Wednesday 12/23/20
Video Appointment
This appointment is held entirely online, from wherever you are. It does not involve an office visit.

Counseling Services
Academic
Counselors are available to help make sure students start off on the right track by developing an education plan of the courses needed to achieve their goal of an Associate's degree, transfer to a four-year institution, or completion of a certificate; even if you’re unsure of your educational goal. Our counseling team is here to help you succeed!
Career
Career goals should be based on interests, personal values, aptitude, and life experiences. Your counselor can explore and select the best major and career goal for you.
Resources and workshops in the Career Center are highly recommended.
Personal
Counselors provide confidential, short-term, non-therapeutic counseling with personal, family, or work concerns as they relate to educational goals.
Crisis/Urgent
Crisis/Urgent services are available to students who are experiencing acute emotional distress and require immediate attention.

Textbook/Supply Voucher Assistance
The Textbook /Supply Voucher provides students an opportunity to request additional financial assistance to obtain textbooks and/or course-adopted supplies for required coursework. Students can receive $250 a year up to 2 years.

CityHub is a free tool that students can use to search for free or reduced-cost services like medical care, food, job training, and more. Complete the form below and we will respond within 24-48 hours, or visit CityHub.
Student Emergency Fund
The Los Rios Student Emergency Fund provides immediate financial assistance (usually within 24 hours) to students involved in catastrophic or unexpected emergency situations. A student may receive a maximum of one student emergency grant of up to $500 during all combined enrollments at the Los Rios colleges. Awards are contingent upon the availability of limited funds, provided through generous donations.
