Internship Info Month

All students are invited to join us for a month of districtwide events hosted by the Los Rios Work Experience and Internship Program from each Los Rios campus. Our virtual internship information sessions will be hosted at 12:00 pm and will feature a virtual employer information session or skills workshop.
This is an excellent opportunity for students to learn about available, quality, local internships and the organizations that are offering them. Our kick-off event on Monday, September 27 called Internships 101 will help prepare you for the events happening all month.

Monday, September 27, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Kick-off Internship Info Month with Internships 101! What is an internship and how does this experience differ from a job? Learn about the virtues of internships, why they should be pursued, and how to find, land, and leverage them, especially for career success later in life. The districtwide WEXP team will break down the complexities of internships and help you understand why gaining this type of work experience can be life-changing.
Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Already attended Internships 101 and know the basics about Internships but need more? Internships 201 will provide more in-depth information about tailoring your application documents, including your Resume and Cover Letter. We will also provide tips for a successful internship experience.
Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Have you heard about Handshake? It's the jobs and internships website used by almost 1,000 college campuses throughout the US. Join us to learn about the Los Rios Handshake website and how you can leverage it to find your next job or internship. Build your account by visiting the Los Rios single sign-on page and clicking on the red Handshake logo.

Intel Corporation designs, manufactures, and sells essential technologies for the cloud, smart, and connected devices for retail, industrial, and consumer uses worldwide. Their purpose is to create world-changing technology that enriches the lives of every person on earth. Each summer, Intel graciously offers internship opportunities around the world. In this specific event, Intel representatives from the Folsom campus will present opportunities within America's Regional Operations Group, under the WW Sales, Marketing, & Communications Group. The presenters, Mark Fiori, Enterprise Business Planning & Enterprise Analytics Lead, and Christina Guerrera, Staffing & Development Manager, will explain what functions take place within the operations group, and what a summer internship program offers. Topics include: what Intel is looking for in a candidate, interview skills and best application practices. All majors invited. Would you like to work for a dynamic and exciting local manufacturing design hub? Join us for a captivating virtual tour of Ansync's production lab in El Dorado Hills and an informational presentation on their current employment and internship opportunities. Ansync Labs is a small team of electrical, software, and mechanical engineers – backed by an in-house manufacturing machine shop and electronics assembly line. They develop clean, beautiful designs that translate into manufacturable, high yield products. #IamRemarkable is a Google initiative empowering underrepresented groups to celebrate their achievements in the workplace and beyond. Join us for this 1.5-hour workshop to learn about the importance of self-promotion and how to exercise this special skill. This workshop is limited in capacity – only 15 students can attend the workshop. This workshop is interactive and requires attendees to engage with other students. If possible, participants are asked to leave their video camera on.
Cal Intern Network Presentation

The website features dozens of paid student assistant positions, many with State of California offices throughout the Sacramento area and throughout the state. These positions work around your school schedule and even offer 40 hours during summer and winter breaks.
