Many students experience homelessness or unsafe housing conditions.

To meet this need we offer Housing Assistance including a potential Emergency Hotel Program plus additional support to help students secure long-term housing.

Funds donated to the Los Rios Colleges Fund or campus-based Cares Programs can be used to provide a hotel stay, allowing a student who is facing homelessness to have a safe place to stay while accessing other resources.

To be eligible to apply for the emergency hotel program, the student must be:

  • enrolled and attending in the current semester that the application is being submitted and in a minimum of six units at any one of our four campuses (American River, Cosumnes River, Folsom Lake, Sacramento City) in good standing. If you are not currently enrolled and attending in the current semester your application will automatically be denied.
  • making satisfactory academic progress
  • facing an emergency situation

The student is limited to one emergency hotel stay per academic year, district-wide.

If you are currently enrolled at one of the Los Rios Colleges and are experiencing a housing emergency, complete the form below.

Students enrolled in summer school can apply for housing assistance starting from the first week of classes. Please check back during that time for further information.
