Library Mission and Policies
The Sacramento City College Learning Resource Center is an integral part of the educational programs of the college. Its primary mission is to support the classroom work, cultural pursuits, and personal development of our students, faculty, and staff.
The library supports the educational goals of the college by:
- Providing a balanced, up-to-date collection of print, non-print and electronic resources;
- Helping students become efficient and effective consumers of information, able to find, evaluate, analyze, use and communicate data.
- Teaching critical thinking and information-seeking skills.
The function of this policy is to make the resources of the library accessible while still maintaining the control necessary to ensure that these resources are available to all library patrons.
Collection Development Policy
This policy states the principles and guidelines for the selection and acquisition of materials for the SCC Libraries.
Electronic Collection Development Policy
The Electronic Collection Development Policy provides guidance for the selection and management of electronic resources that will be shared by all libraries in the district.

Some food and drink are allowed on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the library.
