Here are more of our commitments:
- SCC is a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), and is committed to serving, supporting, and affirming our diverse Latino/a student community, which makes up 33.3% of our student community.
- Promote Latino/a equity, inclusion, empowerment, leadership, culture, and historical contributions, through meaningful opportunities
- Facilitate an environment for Latino/a students that provides academic, professional, and social opportunities that critically engage identity and build community
- Remove barriers to success and advocate on behalf issues that impact Latino/a students
- Amplify Latino/a voices, foster important dialogue, inspire change and provide opportunities for peer and intergenerational mentorship

Brown Issues
We educate Sac City students about community issues pertaining to the Latino/Latina community, as well as working with one another to become positive leaders and role models.
Puente Club
The Puente club is an extension of the Puente Project and what we want to do is focus on community, fundraising, building bonds and expanding our boundaries to create a family with our students. We want to create a safe space for anyone in need of one.
Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers
Goal: To form an organization of professional engineers to serve as role models in the Hispanic Community.
Puente Project
The mission of the Puente Project is to increase the number of educationally disadvantaged students who enroll in four-year colleges and universities, earn college degrees, and return to their communities as mentors and leaders to future generations.
RASA Center
RASA Center and Puente Project seek to empower Latinx students, and other students of color.
Undocu-Resource Program
Sacramento City College aims to create a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for undocumented immigrant students from point of recruitment, to enrollment and completion of their goals.
Hispanic Serving Institution
SCC is a Hispanic Serving Institution, which means that we are serving a large population of students who identify as Hispanic, Latina/o, Mexican, Mexican-American, or Chicana/o.
Ethnic Studies Program
Sacramento City College recognizes the need for a more extensive inclusion of minorities in the American educational system. The Ethnic Studies Program at Sacramento City College is, therefore, open to all students and serves as a response to the needs, demands, and experiences of Sacramento’s minority communities.b about Asian culture.

The annual Latinx Recognition Ceremony, Honrando a Nuestros Estudiantes (Honoring Our Students), celebrates the accomplishments of students that have earned a certificate and/or degree in the current academic year, or are transferring to a four-year university.
