Asian Pacific Islander Program
SCC offers a wide variety of cultural retention and engagement opportunities to make sure our students are successful. The Asian and Pacific Islander engagement center is one of our Cultural Engagement Centers.
We plan to serve and support students who share similar/diverse East Asian, Pacific Islander, South East Asian, and South Asian cultural backgrounds.
The Asian Pacific Islander Program is open for Fall 2021 in person by appointment only.
We can assist students with:
- booking counselor appointments
- general questions
- preparing you for the semester
Peer Leadership Program
The API Program’s Peer Leadership Program is launching this Fall 2021 with a focus on building student connections with API peer mentors and developing leadership skills by learning how to charter a campus club. If you are a student interested in being involved on your campus, we welcome you to join. We hope that in the end, you will feel motivated to start a student club. The Peer Leadership Program starts September 2021 and ends in December 2021. We will be meeting once a month for two hours.
This program will meet virtually only.
Submitting this interest form will let us know that you would like to participate in the API Peer Leadership Program.
We promote higher education within the Hmong community and to increase the awareness of the Hmong culture, while creating a positive social environment in the club that will help students accomplish their educational goals.
