Dental Clinic Entrance in Rodda South

COVID-19 Notice

Starting Monday, November 14th, 2022 we no longer require Proof of Covid-19 Vaccine or Testing for our patients.

On October 19, the Los Rios Board of Trustees voted to end our district’s COVID-19 vaccination requirement for employees and students as soon as practicable. The vaccine requirement will be lifted for all Los Rios students and employees beginning on Monday, November 14.

Los Rios will continue to heed all relevant guidance and requirements from state and local public health experts relating to measures to mitigate the spread of infection. As we have consistently over the past several years, if public health guidance changes then we will respond accordingly.

Public health remains a top priority for Los Rios and our colleges. Consistent with guidance from local public health experts, we continue to strongly recommend wearing masks and appropriate face coverings when indoors. We also strongly recommend that everyone eligible continue to stay up-to-date on their COVID-19 vaccine and booster regimens.

The Clinic provides the Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene students the hands-on experience needed to obtain appropriate dental skills. Although the main goal of the clinic is to supply students with this experience, the public is also provided excellent dental care.

All students receive appropriate lectures and laboratory training before treating patients. The clinic is staffed with licensed dental assistants, dental hygienists, and dentists. Because the students are undergoing instruction and due to the extensive scope of our treatment, appointments are longer than those in a typical dental office.

  • Appointments are generally 2-3 hours in length and more than one appointment may be necessary to complete the work.
  • Reappointments will be given in a timely manner, but in some situations (for example, between semesters) there could be a delay of several weeks.
  • This clinic does not replace your personal dentist. It is still important that you seek regular dental care from a licensed dentist before, during, and following treatment at the clinic. If any obvious lesions or tooth decay is observed during treatment, we will refer you to your dentist for proper diagnosis and treatment.
  • Patients arriving for their appointments more than 15 minutes late may not be seen that day. Patients who do not show up for their appointment may not be given future appointments.

The college reserves the right to refuse treatment to individuals not considered appropriate teaching cases.
