Don't miss this week's In the Studio with composer, Dr. Brian Baumbusch. Along with collaborations with the JACK Quartet and Balinese choreographers, Dr. Baumbusch also founded The Lightbulb Ensemble, a neo-gamelan performing on instruments he built and designed. This week, Dr. Baumbusch will share his 2019 musical work The Pressure, a "tale of gothic horror" inspired by some of the first horror films ever made at the turn of the 20th century.
Hosted by CRC Music Professors Lisa Beebe and Kurt Erickson and Film and Media Studies Professor Adam Wadenius, Dr. Baumbusch will share clips from the premiere performance of The Pressure and discuss the musical and visual aspects of the piece.
If you are interested in film history, horror movies, or contemporary music, this is not an event to be missed!
