COVID Effect on Cohorts
2020-2021 Cohort
Due to COVID-19, the PTA program did not take a new cohort for the 2020-2021 school year, and had a delay in completion for the class of 2021, which will be graduating Fall 2021.
2021-2022 Cohort
The PTA program took a new cohort for the 2021-2022 school year, and expects to return to normal operation for the 2022-2023 school year.
Physical therapist assistants (PTAs) are licensed health care providers who provide physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist. Physical therapist assistants treat patients with movement, strength, and coordination disorders in order to improve function, decrease pain, and increase independence.

Information Meetings
Start your journey to a Physical Therapist Assistant degree by attending an information meeting. The information meeting for the 2021-2022 school year will be conducted via Zoom meeting.
Request to Attend
Prospective students need to fill out the Request to Attend an Informational Meeting to get an access code for the meeting. Please complete the form by 5:00 pm one day prior to the meeting in order to receive an email with the access code for the meeting.

- the licensing process
- the employment outlook for PTAs

To help meet the health care needs of the community the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Sacramento City College provides a comprehensive educational program that prepares a diverse student population for practice as licensed physical therapist assistants.
Advisory Committee
The advisory committee for the program consists of members representing the academic and clinical community, members of the general public, and student representatives. The advisory committee meets once per semester. See the current Advisory Committee Roster.
