Notice to Applicants Due to COVID-19 Impact

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in students currently enrolled in the program prevented from completing their required clinical fieldwork. This will take an extended period of time once the program is able to again place students in school and health care settings. As a result, the program will not be enrolling a new cohort of students in January 2021. Applications will still be accepted during the next application cycle. Eligible students will be placed on the existing wait list for entry in 2023 and 2024. The entry year will depend on the number of qualified applicants and the results of the required random selection process.

Application Requirements / Enrollment Eligibility

To enroll in the Occupational Therapy Assisting (OTA) program students must be eligible for graduation with the exception of OTA coursework and have an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher. Courses passed with a grade of “P” or “CR” will be calculated into the student’s GPA as a “C” grade.

Check your classes on the PDF DownloadOTA Course Equivalency Chart (PDF) because your prior coursework may count toward required classes for the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program.

If you don’t see your course from another institution on the Equivalency Chart, but believe it should be counted, complete a Course Substitution Petition and be sure to give yourself at least two weeks for processing. A copy of your approved petition must be on file with Admissions and Records prior to meeting with a counselor to complete your Course Verification form for application to the OTA program.
