Gradebook Formulas

Oh to my horror, gradebook formulas are revealed to me. Lewis Caviness, Math, stopped by to share how he has added graded items as formulas for his positive attendance Math 25 class. His suggestion is to create the individual grade items as numeric and then add new items with formulas - using the SUM and MIN functions (oh, there's more!) and even adding IF statements. His class uses formulas to evaluate Earn Units, Attend Units and Test Units.

It will take time for you to get comfortable with D2L's Formula Editor - if you stumble down this road. Remember to SAVE often. I'd suggest printing a page for reference since building a new formula is an isolated task and your notes will be helpful.
