Important Information about your new iMail E-mail Account:

As you begin this semester, we want you to know some initial information about the new comprehensive student E-mail system for Los Rios students named iMail.

The iMail system was developed in-house as a replacement for both ZipMail and GoMail.  All new students will receive iMail accounts automatically.  Students who have previously used Zipmail and Gomail may continue to do so for now, however eventually they will have to move to the iMail server.

The iMail accounts are shown and used for the official class roster, however they are NOT shown or used in Blackboard unless the student manually configures the E-mail address in Blackboard to use their new iMail account.

Important:  Students must activate the iMail account in order to use it by visiting this web page: http://imail.losrios.edu/newstudent

First click on New to Los Rios to get started

Then you will have to agree to the Acceptance of Use Policy

After you click on Activate Button 2.JPG

If the student activates the account, they can receive their E-mail in this account or they may configure it to forward the mail to another account, by clicking on Preferences on the left hand side of the screen

Students clicking on Preferences on the left hand side of the screen will see the screen below.  Click on Forwarding your imail to have it forwarded to your normal email account.

The screen below show setting your imail to be forwarded to your normal email address

Now your imail can be found by going to your imail account, and you should also see email from the class in your normal email account.

All students are requested to activate their new iMail account so that all messages will be properly received or forwarded.

Thank you for your assistance and cooperation with this new procedure.
