Manila

What is Manila?

Manila is an "Internet server application that allows groups of writers, designers, and graphics people to manage full-featured, high performance web sites thru an easy-to-use browser interface." SCC is in the beginning phase of making Manila web accounts available to SCC faculty/staff.

What Does Manila Have to Do With Accessibility?

All Manila templates created at SCC are Section 508 compliant. The accessibility of any content or design changes will be the responsibility of the web site's owner, but needless to say, it is very easy to create a universally accessible Web site with Manila.

How Do I Know If Manila Is Right For Me?

If you are a novice to Web design or would like to "team edit" a Web site, Manila is a great way to quickly create an accessible Web site.

Examples of SCC Web sites created with Manila:

Instructional Development Department
Sample SCC Faculty Web site
Sample Classified Staff Web site

If you are interested in in obtaining a Manila account and training, email Melissa Green, Instructional Development Coordinator, for workshop dates.
