The Graphic Communication Department partners with industry leaders to develop curriculum that blends solid theoretical training with the latest software versions. Faculty members ensure student understanding of typography, color theory, layout, composition, visual message-making, and principles of animation while preparing them for real-world employment. GCOM has been inspiring creative emergence and developing professional marketability for over 3 decades.

GCOM serves over 650 current students with more than 80 units of challenging coursework. Our classes provide students with a solid basis for transfer to a four-year college or rewarding careers within the graphic communications industry. Our alumni enjoy fulfilling work with newspapers, book and magazine publishers, graphic design studios, prepress departments, government agencies, in-house design studios, animation and film studios, web design teams, or self-employment.
